Working on Women Empowerment

Janseva Gramin Vikas Va Shikshan Pratisthan has been working on women empowerment since 1996 in Yavatmal District, reaching and impacting the lives of over 50,000 women through its dedicated and community-centered initiatives. The organization believes that empowering women is key to building strong, self-reliant, and progressive communities. Over the years, it has focused on enhancing the social, economic, and leadership capacities of women, especially in rural and marginalized sections.

Through the formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Janseva has enabled women to develop saving habits, access microfinance, and engage in income-generating activities. The organization also provides skill development training in various trades such as tailoring, beauty services, agriculture-based livelihoods, and small-scale entrepreneurship, helping women become financially independent. In addition, awareness programs on health, education, legal rights, and gender equality have played a significant role in building confidence and informed decision-making among women.

Janseva actively promotes women’s participation in village development processes and local governance, encouraging them to take leadership roles and voice their concerns. By creating opportunities, strengthening capacities, and fostering a supportive environment, the organization continues to transform the lives of thousands of women, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their families and society.
